Why should I borrow instead of purchasing?

We are largely a bespoke service where we custom tailor costumes and dresses to each girl's measurements. However, after requests to consider renting costumes, we decided to start offering a rental service for some of our designs. Renting may be right for you if you do not need a custom fit and want the ability to use a luxury costume at a fraction of the purchase price.  

When is purchasing better for me?

You may want to consider purchasing a costume over renting if you want to use the costume for more than one occasion, want it as a keepsake or desire to pass it on to siblings family and friends.  Also, if your child is hard to fit standard sizing, a custom costume may be the perfect solution. 

How far in advance do I need to rent my costume/dress?

We recommend that you request delivery about 2 days before your event. Once you select your target delivery date, we recommend allowing 4 business days for shipping.  However, if needed, we can ship express delivery at an additional cost.

When does my rental period begin and end?

Your rental period begins the day your order is delivered to your doorstep. We offer a 4 day or 8 day rental period. For example-  for a 4 day rental - if you select to have your pieces delivered on a Saturday that is your start date and you would need to ship it to us by Tuesday. In effort to obtain accuracy in tracking, we ask that you postmark your dress back to us by 12 pm on the last day of your rental. If your rental period ends on Sunday or holiday it needs to be postmarked the following business day.  If you need additional days, please organize with us in advance of your order.

Do you rent hair accessories?

At this point we do not offer rental of hair accessories out of hygiene concerns. However, we do carry hair accessories that can be purchased. See the "Shop" section of our website.  

How do I pay for my rental?

Paypal and all major credit cards.

How many days in advance of my event should I rent my item?

We suggest 2 days before your event.  For example, if your birthday party is on a Saturday, we recommend your rental start date to be Thursday.  After the party is over, just pack up your item and ship it back to us Monday morning (Sunday doesn't count)!

How do I know if the costume/dress I want is available for my event?

Just check the rental calendar on the item page. If it's not highlighted in red, then it's available.

What if I accidentally stain or damage the item?

Don't worry! We understand that some staining may be inevitable and beyond your control. In very rare situations, a rental may experience irreparable damages or go completely missing altogether. Should loss or significant damage occur, your credit card would be charged the full retail value of the item (which is acknowledged in the rental agreement).

How do I know my costume/dress is clean?

Each piece is cleaned and steamed between rentals and comes with our promise that your rental will look fresh and event ready when you receive it. We take hygiene seriously and want you to be happy with your delivery.

What if I want to keep it?

Our rentals are not items for purchase. However, please see our "SHOP" section of our website or  e-mail us with your request at order@baileyandava.com.

How much does shipping cost?

Dresses/costume shipping costs are either $12.95 or $18.95 within the US. The pricing depends on the weight and length of the dress. Return shipping of the costume or dress is on us and labels and packaging are included in your delivery. We do allow for 2 day shipping at an additional cost (please contact us).

What if I return my rental late?

We charge a late fee of $50 for each additional day each item is not returned. We are grateful for you making us your something borrowed and appreciate you being mindful of the customer.

How do I return my order?

Returns are on us! Just ship it back to us with the complimentary return label we provided and drop it in any USPS location that supports priority mail. There’s no need to iron or clean the item. Make sure you post the package by no later than 12pm on the return date. If your return date falls on a Sunday or a holiday, it must be postmarked first thing the following business day. It is important that we receive the dress back on time so we can ensure availability for the next customer.

What if I misplace/lose my return shipping envelope?

We provide you with one complimentary return per order. If you misplace the label, it is your responsibility to send the order back by the required due date at your own expense.

What if I am not happy with the item once received?

We want to ensure that our customers are fully satisfied.  Feel free to contact us with any concerns about your item at orders@baileyandava.com

Can I cancel my order?

Cancellations of orders are allowed up until the day your item has shipped. However, for cancellations less than 15 days, a cancellation fee of $9.95 will be charged. If you are not happy with the item once your receive it, please feel free to contact us at order@baileyandava.com.
